3.Real-time subtitles during the platform

Goal

Increase in subtitle usage during live streams.
Reduction in viewer complaints about understanding video content.

How might we break language barriers to connect content creators with a global audience?

Project Overview

CaptionCraft is an AI-powered app that helps creators generate accurate, customizable subtitles in multiple languages—instantly. The goal was to design a seamless tool that makes video content more accessible for everyone, including hearing-impaired users, multilingual viewers, and those watching without sound.

The Problem

Video is everywhere, but not everyone can hear or understand it.
Hearing-impaired users, non-native speakers, and people watching without sound rely on subtitles—but most existing tools are:

  • Inaccurate and poorly synced

  • Lacking in translation support

  • Visually cluttered and hard to navigate

80% of live stream viewers want real-time subtitles, but current tools often have delays or inaccuracies.

75% of people said subtitle accuracy is critical to their viewing experience, with mistranslations causing distrust in content.
